August 2020 5K a Day: Week 4+ Virtual Events Recap

I managed to complete a 5K a day runstreak (or walkstreak) this month, yay me!  My aim was to have each 5K (or longer) be some kind of "event", from free online challenges to organized virtual races plus a few DIY runs.

  • Event: Today's 5K walk was dedicated to blind athlete Diane Berberian, on Diane Berberian Day, so named by the Boston City Council.

  • Recommendation: Virtual Runner US offers some cute themed medals and virtual runs for a good cause. Shipping was quick. There's not much of a social aspect though -- you can submit your time on the website but there's no community on Facebook (that I could find) and nowhere to share photos or stories.  Recommended for the cute medals.

3 Run Wild for Wildwood Virtual 5K
